At MySizePatterns Company (“Mysizepatterns" or “We”) we feel responsible to protect the personal data of our consumers and to safeguard your privacy. We believe in the importance of keeping our services transparent, personal and reliable. We invite you to familiarize yourself with this Privacy statement, which we developed to inform you about the way we collect, use and protect your information. This Privacy Policy applies to this site only and does not apply to other websites to which we link, even though links to these websites may be included on ours.

We enable our members, through the website and its associated domains and apps (collectively the “Website”), to buy and download sewing patterns for their personal use.The domain and services covered by this privacy policy:

1. Collection of personally identifiable information

Mysizepatterns is the owner of the information collected on collect personally identifiable information from our users at several different points on our website. Information that you provide to us (e.g. through a voluntary registration process, log on, visit our site or emails) and information we collect through automated tracking mechanisms and technology to make our website more interesting and useful to you and for various purposes related to our business. For instance, when you come to our site, we collect your IP address. An IP address is associated with the access point through which you enter the Internet. On its own, your IP address is not personally identifiable. We may use IP addresses to collect information regarding the frequency with which visitors log on to our website, visit various parts of our website. If you log on to the website, we also connect the information to your personal account (like your web shop). We may combine IP addresses with personally identifiable information. We also collect information generated by the web-servers for the purpose of assessing the technical performance of our systems and to enhance service levels. 

We use cookies to collect the information. Cookies are small data files that are created on the device you use to visit our website. Cookies prevent you from repeatedly providing your data, specifying your choices or putting products in your shopping basket. We will always seek your consent, before using cookies. Ordering online
If you choose to buy our products in our web shop, we use your information to conclude your order, to enable product downloads and to contact you in relation to your order.
We register your contact details, such as name, email address and account. If you purchase products from us, we collect your order and payment details, for example, bank account number, credit card details, the type of products ordered or purchased, and the date of the order or purchase. We store your purchase history and payment history.

Your information will be stored for two years. Your transactional information (wire transfer details), will be stored longer to comply with laws.


2. How we use your information

We may update and supplement personally identifiable information that we have collected directly from you with other information that we obtain from third parties. In addition, we may obtain personally identifiable information about individuals who are not yet users of our website. When we associate information that we obtain from third parties with personally identifiable information that we have collected under this Privacy Policy, we will treat the acquired information in the same way we treat the information that we collected ourselves and, except as permitted by this Privacy Policy, the information will not be shared with third parties.

Which other parties have access to your information?

We will not disclose, use, give or sell any personal information to third parties for any purposes other than to provide our services to you and to run our business, unless required to do so by law. We share data with third parties from the following categories:

  • Third parties, which are involved in processing purchases, e.g. web shop systems, payment providers to administer your ordering products and our (cashback) payments, payment processing services including PayPal and Stripe, etc.
  • Third parties, which provide professional services to us, e.g. web hosting providers, etc.
  • Law enforcement and other government authorities, e.g. tax offices and customs.

Our partners only use your information under our instructions. We may permit certain trusted third parties to track usage, analyze data such as the source address that a page request is coming from, your IP address or domain name, the date and time of the page request, the referring website (if any) and other parameters in the URL. This is collected in order to better understand our website usage and enhance the performance of services to maintain and operate the website and certain features on the website. We may use third parties to host the website; operate various features available on the website; send emails; analyze data; provide search results and links.

Mysizepatterns may disclose personally identifiable information in special cases where we have reason to believe that disclosing this information is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against someone who may be violating our terms and conditions of use or may be causing injury or interference with our rights, property, our customers or anyone who could be harmed by such activities.

We reserve the right to contact you regarding matters relevant to the service provided and/or the information collected.

We may transfer personally identifiable information as an asset in connection with a proposed or actual merger or sale (including any transfers made as part of an insolvency or bankruptcy proceeding) involving all or part of our business or as part of a corporate reorganization, stock sale or other change in control.
From which other parties do we receive your information?

We will not collect sensitive information about you from anyone else without your consent. If we receive information from others, we always ensure that we have your consent for receiving and using the information.


3. How We Protect Your Information

We are committed to protecting the information we receive from you. We take appropriate security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy and ensure the correct use of information, we maintain appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information and data stored on our system. While no computer system is completely secure, we believe the measures we have implemented reduce the likelihood of security problems to a level appropriate to the type of data involved.

Storing Your Information

We use various systems and databases to store your personal information. Some are managed by Mysizepatterns and others by our partners (see "Which other parties have access to your information" above). Because we fully understand the importance of keeping your information secure, we have taken various technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss or improper use. Your personal information is stored within the European Union. If personal information is passed on to recipients in countries outside the European Union, we will take additional measures to protect your information.

We will keep hold of your data for no longer than necessary. The length of time we retain it will depend on any legal obligations we have (such as tax recording purposes), the nature of any contracts we have in place with you, the existence of your consent or our legitimate interests as a business.


When you purchase from us, we retain that information for a period of six years following the end of the financial year during which you purchased from us. It is our legal obligation to keep these records for tax purposes.


Account information will be retained for a period of 2 years from your last change or order date in order to verify your account status and recent history. 


4. Accessing & Updating Your Personal Information & Preferences

We provide mechanisms for updating and correcting your personal information. If you are a registered user, you may access and update your registration information and your preferences to receive email or other communications from us in the account area or by clicking on the Contact link in the footer on this website. We will make commercially reasonable efforts to implement your opt-out requests promptly, but you may still receive communications from us for up to ten business days as we process your request.

5. Children’s Privacy & Parental Controls

We understand the importance of safeguarding the privacy of children. We do not knowingly collect personal data of children without the consent of their parents or legal guardians. We ask children who are under the age of 16 and who are using our website in a way that requires them to submit personal data, to ask their parent or guardian to consent to submitting that data. We may ask for certain personal data, like date of birth, to carry out age verification checks and enforce any such age restrictions. Parents should be aware that there are parental control tools available online that can be used to prevent children from submitting information online without parental permission or from accessing material that is harmful to minors.

By consenting to the Terms and Conditions of the website and the Privacy Policy, you consent that no data transmission over the Internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information you provide to us and you transmit such information to us at your own risk.

7. Your Privacy Rights

Requests for access
If you want to know what information we store about you, just contact us and we will send you an overview of your personal information. If the information turns out to be inaccurate, or in case it appears to be stored in violation of data protection laws, we will correct or delete it.

The right to rectification
If the information Mysizepatterns holds about you is inaccurate or not complete, you have the right to ask us to rectify it. If that data has been passed to a third party with your consent or for legal reasons, then we will ask them to rectify the data too. 
The right to erasure
Also called ‘the right to be forgotten’. Please contact us if you want Mysizepatterns to erase all your personal data and if we do not have a legal reason to continue to process and hold it, we will erase your data.
The right to restrict processing
You have the right to request Mysizepatterns to restrict the processing of  your personal data. This means we are permitted to store the data but not further process it. We keep just enough data to make sure we respect your request in the future. 
The right to object to processing
You have the right to object to Mysizepatterns' processing of your personal data.
The right to data portability
Mysizepaterns must allow you to obtain and reuse your personal data for your own purposes in a safe and secure way without this affecting the usability of your data. Please contact us if you want us to transfer the data we have collected to another company or directly to you.
How to contact us and how we respond to your request
Requests can be made by clicking on the Contact link in the footer on this website, state your request in the message area. We may decline requests if we cannot verify your identity, your request is unreasonable or unspecific or in case your request jeopardizes the privacy of others. We will reply to you anyhow within four weeks.

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time at our sole discretion. MySizePatterns advises you to read this Privacy statement regularly, in order to stay up to date on any changes. n case of major changes, if we amend this Privacy Policy to permit material changes in the way we collect, use, and/or share your personal information, we will notify you of such amendment by sending you an email at the last email address that you provided us, and/or by posting notice of the amendment on our website. Any such amendment to this Privacy Policy will be effective immediately after we post notice of the changes on the website. Your use of the website indicates your assent to the Privacy Policy as posted, and your continued use of the website after amendments have been posted will constitute acceptance of, and agreement to be bound by, those amendments.

You are responsible at all times for updating your personal information and providing us with your current email address. In the event that the last email address you have provided us is not valid, or for any other reason is not capable of delivering to you the notice described above, our dispatch of the email containing such notice will nonetheless constitute effective notice of the amendment described in the notice.
